  • Currently BJ Paige serves as the first ever Returning Citizens Liaison for Prince George’s County, Maryland. This position is working under the Returning Citizens Affairs Division (RCAD) from the Office of the County Executive Angela Alsobrooks. This office is a specialized division dedicated to coordinating, advocating for, monitoring, and improving Prince George’s County’s ecosystem of services relating to returning citizens and the justice involved.

    Returning Citizen Affairs Division

    The Prince George’s County Returning Citizen Affairs Division (RCAD) is to lead Prince George’s County, Maryland in being a regional and national model reentry ecosystem that provides county residents released from incarceration in state, local, and federal facilities with opportunities to transform their lives in such a way that they will become fully engaged and productive members of the community. BJ serves as the first ever Returning Citizen Liaison.

    Flikshop School of Business

    Flikshop School of Business confronts the barriers to entrepreneurs from underserved communities that are affected by recidivism. They introduce every student to a curriculum that was designed by Founder, Marcus Bullock (CEO/Flikshop), to build confidence, learn strategy and communication skills, and how to plan for a life of entrepreneurship. BJ Served as Associate Director.

    YAP - Youth Advocate Program (Washington, DC and PG County)

    Detention, youth prison, and placements in congregate care separate youth from family and community. YAP’s community-based alternatives help program participants and their families achieve life skills and other goals in safe, supportive community environments. BJ Served as a Youth Advocate.

    Run Hope Work

    Run Hope Work provides a pathway out of financial poverty and reduce post-traumatic stress (PTS) in high-risk youth populations. The intervention was designed to holistically reduce the number of unemployed young adult DC residents by providing employable skills training and certification. A large majority of their participants are adjudicated youth facing legal charges. BJ served as Executive Director.

    Workforce 180

    We partnered with Workforce 180 and co-host, Mike Fazio, for a Reentry Services Certification “How to guide your Returning Citizen population back to the workforce”. Workforce 180 supports every workforce organization in their unending desire to create betterment opportunities for the jobseekers and employers they serve.
